NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Two former Monroe County sheriff’s deputies have been arrested and charged with one count of assault and one count of official misconduct.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said the Monroe County grand jury has indicted former Capt. Bill Johnson and former Detective Derrick Graves. Both are accused of assaulting someone who had been arrested and was in restraints at the Monroe County Jail.

The TBI said they were both fired from the sheriff’s department in September.

It’s not clear if either retained an attorney.
