BELFAST, Maine (AP) - A Maine teenager charged with the murder of a 49-year-old man will soon make his first court appearance.

Maine state police say they’ve charged the 16-year-old boy with murder in the death of Steven Hodgon of Troy last month. Police have not named him, but say his identity will be made public in court.

Police say the 16 year old boy - who was arrested Wednesday - will make his first appearance at 1 p.m. on Friday in Belfast District Court. The teenager was arrested in Lewiston before being transported to Waldo County Jail.

Detectives began investigating the death when Hodgon was found unresponsive in his home on March 8. The state medical examiner’s office says he died from a stab wound to the chest.
