PHOENIX (AP) - A Tuba City man has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of his 10-week-old daughter.

A federal jury reached its verdict Tuesday against 30-year-old Ken Jermaine Fowler. Jurors rejected the original charge of second-degree murder in the indictment.

Sentencing is set for June 29. Fowler faces up to life in prison.

Prosecutors say Fowler assaulted his daughter in September 2011 on the Navajo Nation, causing massive brain injuries that led to her death four days later. He also was found guilty of assault of a minor resulting in serious bodily injury.
