PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A new website is available to anglers and boaters about new rules intended to slow the spread of invasive species.

The South Dakota Game Fish and Parks launched the site https://sdleastwanted.com ahead of the rules expected to take effect in mid-May.

The site includes the new laws and regulations; species information related to zebra and quagga mussels, Asian carp and invasive plants; boat washing techniques and locations; a map depicting water bodies and any invasive species it might contain; and other details.

GFP also created the hashtag #sdleastwanted so anglers and boaters can share what they’re doing on social media sites Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The new rules require several prevention actions, including the removal of vegetation and aquatic invasive species from boats and boat trailers.
