YOUNGSVILLE, La. (AP) - Police investigations are ongoing to identify a man accused of punching and breaking the nose of a youth softball coach.

The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1OKlmYJ) reports the head coach for the Broussard Youngsville Youth Association was punched during a post-game brawl Tuesday night at the Youngsville Sports Complex.

Youngsville Police Chief Rickey Boudreaux says they are still working to identify the man who threw the punch. The man was working as an assistant coach for the visiting team, the Brown Park Youth Association’s U16 girls slow-pitch team of Lafayette.

The Lafayette team’s head coach told police she only knew the man as “Joe” and plucked him from the crowd that night to work in the game.

Lafayette Consolidated Government is conducting its own investigation into the incident.
