Clay Aiken apparently is holding a grudge against his former political opponent Rep. Renee Ellmers, calling the Republican incumbent a “b——” with low self-esteem.

The former “American Idol” runner-up appeared on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show Monday to promote his Esquire Network show “The Runner-Up,” which follows his failed Democratic campaign in North Carolina, The Hill reported.

“You should see the second episode, because she’s a b——,” Mr. Aiken said, referring to Ms. Ellmers. “She’s an idiot, and I think her self-esteem is just in the floor, under the floor.”

At one point Mr. Aiken even referred to Ms. Ellmers with a derogatory slang term for the female anatomy, The Hill reported.

“I’m not a fan of the person I ran against in Congress, obviously,” he said.

A spokeswoman for Ms. Ellmers said the insults help Mr. Aiken live up to his legacy.

“Mr. Aiken’s crude language and disrespectful demeanor towards the Congresswoman has proven to the American people why he is a runner-up,” Blair Ellis told The Hill.
