INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Former Indiana All-Star Ron Patterson is heading home to play for IUPUI.

Tuesday’s news comes a little more than a month after the 6-foot-2 guard announced he would transfer from Syracuse. Patterson will have two years of eligibility remaining.

The former Broad Ripple High School star has taken a circuitous route back to Indiana.

He originally signed with the home-state Hoosiers as part of their 2012 recruiting class but instead wound up attending Brewster Academy. After one year at the Maine prep school, Patterson enrolled at Syracuse.

In two seasons with the Orange, Patterson played in 39 games and averaged 2.6 points and 1.4 assists.

The Jaguars’ new roster includes incoming freshman Evan Hall, who signed his national letter-of-intent April 15.
