BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - A small poodle is unharmed after it was thrown against a wall outside a Butte bar.

The Montana Standard reports (https://bit.ly/1z9iQcE) that police say the dog was thrown by its owner early Saturday after she was asked to remove it from the bar top.

Sheriff Ed Lester says Butte-Silver Bow police are seeking a warrant against the owner on cruelty to animal charges.

Lester says the 54-year-old Butte woman tossed the poodle to a patron who caught it and left the bar to sit at a table outside.

He says the owner then took her dog and flung it against an exterior wall. The patron then pushed the owner to the ground.

The poodle is being held at Chelsea Bailey Butte-Silver Bow Animal Shelter.
