DENVER (AP) - Some residents of Northeast Denver are uneasy following three shootings in their neighborhood in less than 48 hours.

KMGH-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Fu2Rau ) that the neighborhood saw two shootings on Saturday and a third on Monday morning.

Police are investigating the possibility of a link between the Saturday shootings but do not believe the Monday incident is related.

Residents of the Cole, Whittier and North Park Hill neighborhoods say they worried about the violence.

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock said the city will stand with them for their right to live in peace.

Northeast Denver resident Euell Thomas said the violence has been confined to one segment of the population.

He said the city needs a community-wide effort to change the culture of violence and provide more economic options to young men.
