GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say one person was taken to a hospital after a sport-utility vehicle crashed into an Applebee’s restaurant in Guntersville.

WHNT-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1IYXZJK ) the crash happened Thursday afternoon when an SUV that had been involved in a wreck on U.S. 431 entered the Applebee’s parking lot. Officials say the SUV struck three parked vehicles and then smashed into the side of the restaurant.

Guntersville fire officials said one person - an Applebee’s employee - was taken to the hospital.

Police said the driver of the SUV was taken into custody. The driver’s identity was not immediately released.
