PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Jury selection is getting underway for man accused of killing another man during a confrontation at a beekeeping business in North Yarmouth.

Police say 70-year-old Merrill Kimball shot 63-year-old Leon Kelley multiple times in October 2013 at Brown’s Bee Farm. Kelley’s father-in-law is owner of the business, and Kimball’s wife worked there.

Kimball’s attorney has called it a “clear case of self-defense” saying Kelley initiated the altercation by pushing Kimball and his wife.

If a jury is selected, opening statements will begin on Monday.
