LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Some Ragin’ Cajun fraternity members are out of house and home after their residence failed a Lafayette Fire Department inspection.

KATC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1DrIMlJ ) four of seven campus fraternities inspected were shut down March 27 for not having working fire alarms. The power was disconnected from the four houses that failed the inspection.

Three have since been able to address the issue; one has not.

Phi Kappa Theta still has yet to fix their system. That means students living in that house are now left with no place to go.

It all comes down to safety, says Alton Trahan with the Lafayette Fire Department.

The university, in a statement, said it is working with Phi Kappa Theta, its national organization and the fire prevention division to resolve any issues.
