SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - A Spartanburg packaging company is consolidating operations at an old textile plant that will create 50 new jobs.

The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported (https://bit.ly/1bTALd8) that Concept Packaging Group said Thursday is has purchased an old plant near Interstate 85 and U.S. 221.

The company says it will spend $2.5 million to renovate the plant to create a new manufacturing and distribution hub. Work on the new facility is expected to be finished by November.

The company says the new jobs will support demand from existing customers, which includes the BMW plant in Greer.

Concept Packaging has about 250 employees in Spartanburg.
