LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - Randolph College has sold two more paintings from its collection.

The News & Advance reports (https://bit.ly/1I8osH8 ) that the college has sold Ernest Martin Hennings’ “Through the Arroyo” and Edward Hicks’ “A Peaceable Kingdom.” The college says the paintings were sold privately, and the prices will not be disclosed.

College spokeswoman Brenda Edson says the money will be added to the school’s approximately $160 million endowment.

The two paintings are the last of a series of four major works chosen to be sold by in 2007 by Randolph College’s Board of Trustees. “Troubador” by Rufino Tamayo sold for $7.2 million in 2007. “Men of the Docks” by George Bellows went for $25.5 million last year.
