SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) - A Sioux City man has been given 10 years in prison for domestic abuse and arson.

Thirty-five-year-old Nathan Toft was sentenced on Thursday in Woodbury County District Court. He pleaded guilty to the two felony charges after prosecutors dropped a charge of stalking.

Toft admitted choking the female victim during an argument on June 19. And officials say that on Nov. 12 he set fire to a pile of wood next to the woman’s house. She and others inside escaped, unhurt.
