SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - The New York Racing Association has scheduled a hearing next month to gather public comment on plans to build an addition to the clubhouse at Saratoga Race Course.

The organization that operates Saratoga, Aqueduct and Belmont has submitted capital improvement plans that include adding a three-story building adjacent to the current clubhouse at the 150-year-old track.

The addition would replace the At the Rail pavilion tent and temporary luxury suites near the clubhouse turn.

The track and its surrounding grounds are owned by the state. Capital projects at Saratoga require approval from the state Racing Franchise Oversight Board and the state Office of General Services.

A hearing on the plan has been set for May 28 at the City Center in downtown Saratoga Springs.

The Saratoga season opens July 24.
