PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) - A Mercer County woman faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to child and sexual abuse charges.

Media outlets report that 34-year-old Jessica Barela entered her pleas on Wednesday in Mercer County Circuit Court. Sentencing is scheduled for June 29.

The charges involve three girls who lived with Barela and 57-year-old James Roland Irvin at a residence in Bluefield in 2007.

Irvin is serving a sentence of 235 to 950 years in prison on sex charges involving the girls. He was convicted in October 2014 of sexual assault and sexual abuse.

The children testified during Irvin’s trial that they told Barela he was hurting them.
