LA PUENTE, Calif. (AP) - The California Highway Patrol says two men were killed and a woman was badly injured in a Los Angeles County crash investigators say may have occurred during a street race.

The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/1DEzvqB ) the victims were in a Chevrolet Malibu that was speeding when the driver lost control and collided with a parked Ford pickup truck in La Puente.

The 26-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger were killed early Sunday. Another passenger, a 23-year-old woman, was hospitalized with major injuries.

A witness tells the CHP the Malibu may have been racing a beige sedan in the suburban city about 20 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
