TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter is expected to talk about economic and national security while visiting Arizona State University in Tempe.

Carter is scheduled to meet with ASU President Michael Crow and Arizona military officials on Monday before speaking to faculty and students.

ASU officials say Carter is expected to discuss the link between economic and national security. He will also take questions from the audience.

Carter is scheduled to depart Tuesday for a five-day trip with stops in Japan, South Korea and Hawaii.
