TIGARD, Ore. (AP) - A fire department spokeswoman says a forklift hit a structural support post Monday afternoon at a commercial building in the Portland suburb of Tigard (TYE-gard) Oregon, causing a partial collapse of the 15,000-square-foot building and prompting the evacuation of 120 people. The forklift driver suffered minor injuries.

Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue spokeswoman Alisa Cour says the accident at Kayu International was reported by an employee. She says those evacuated were from both Kayu and an adjacent business, Sky High Sports.

The spokeswoman says fire crews and a city engineer were evaluating the structure and preparing the roof for rain.

Kayu’s website says it is a globally recognized leader of premium, imported hardwood decking.
