WASHINGTON (AP) - Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is proving to be a hit at the box office.

Arena Stage in Washington said Monday that it is extending its run of the new play about Scalia for a second time, keeping the show running through May.

“The Originalist” is a story about one of the high court’s most conservative and polarizing figures and how he confronts some of the biggest issues from gun rights to gay marriage. Actor Edward Gero plays a convincing Justice Scalia as he spars with a liberal law clerk named Cat.

The show opened for previews March 19 and was originally set to close April 26. The initial run had been extended to May 3. Producers announced Monday that the show will resume again May 19 through May 31.
