COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - Police continue to investigate a shooting in Council Bluffs that hospitalized one man.
The Council Bluffs Police Department responded to a report of several shots fired just after 1:30 a.m. Monday. About 10 minutes after officers arrived at the scene, they were told that a man had checked into CHI Health Mercy Hospital with a gunshot wound.
The Daily Nonpareil reports that (https://bit.ly/1MYuAoI ) 38-year-old Craig E. Anson, of Council Bluffs, had been shot in the left side of his lower back. His injuries were deemed non-life threatening and he was discharged from the hospital Monday morning.
Anson tells police that he heard a disturbance outside his home and he went outside to investigate when he was shot once with a handgun.
Police say the case remains under investigation.
