NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - Police in North Las Vegas say they’re trying to find an assailant after a man showed up at a Las Vegas hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Sgt. Chrissie Coon says the wounded man arrived at University Medical Center about 9:35 p.m. Sunday, and was admitted in critical condition.

The man told police he’d been shot on Stanley Avenue, near Pecos Road and Owens Street.

Coon says detectives found evidence that the shooting occurred in the street in front of a vacant home.

A shooter wasn’t immediately identified.
