RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Raleigh police say they’ve launched a homicide investigation after finding a dead man inside a burning building.

Raleigh police say they believe 32-year-old Curtis Lamont Mitchell of Raleigh was the victim of Wednesday’s blaze at a home.

Mitchell was reportedly seen alive nearby about five hours before the East Raleigh fire was reported.

Firefighters discovered his body inside the structure when they entered, then called police detectives to the scene.
