THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - The city of Thibodaux could soon settle a lawsuit over federal handicap accessible requirements for Peltier (PEL’-chay) Park.

The Daily Comet reports (https://bit.ly/1DaSCq9 ) the Thibodaux City Council plans to meet in executive session Tuesday to discuss the case and will vote on a resolution authorizing a $15,957 settlement with the plaintiff.

Andrew Schlesinger, who has spina bifida, filed the suit in U.S. District Court in New Orleans in August.

Schlesinger sought unspecified damages.

As part of the settlement, the city would also have two years to make modifications to Peltier Park in accordance with the complaint.
