TOWN OF BLACK WOLF, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say a man is dead after a house fire in Winnebago County.

Officials say the fire started about 10:30 p.m. Monday in the Town of the Black Wolf. Shortly after midnight, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, and the victim’s body was found inside the home.

The Winnebago County coroner’s office identifies the victim as 64-year-old Harold Dekarske (deh-KAR’-skee), who lived in the house.

The sheriff’s office has asked the state fire marshal’s office for help investigating the fire.

WLUK-TV (https://bit.ly/1Fc2Usj) reports the fire closed a section of Highway 45 for nearly 12 hours. Six fire departments and nearly 60 firefighters helped put out the fire.
