CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) - A fire at an industrial building in Capitol Heights destroyed two fire trucks, and replacing them is expected to cost $1.5 million.

Firefighters battled the blaze Monday at two attached warehouses that housed a roofing company and a bathroom and closet remodelers. Prince George’s County fire officials said that what was actually on fire was an industrial storage yard located on both sides and in the rear of the warehouses. The storage yard was filled automobiles, wood pallets, roofing materials and propane tanks.

Officials said the fire was driven by the wind and spread rapidly, overtaking the two fire trucks. It took about 90 minutes to gain control of the fire.

Firefighters reported two minor burn injuries. The fire remains under investigation.
