MADISON, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have charged three teenagers with criminal mischief after state police say they left two homemade bottle bombs outside a central New York home.

Troopers say they also charged a 17-year-old boy and two 18-year-olds with disorderly conduct and trespass for leaving the explosive devices at a home in the rural town of Madison, 35 miles southeast of Syracuse.

Police say they were called to the home on Feb. 1 after the homeowner found a plastic bottle on the second-floor balcony outside a bedroom. Troopers say the bottle contained a corrosive liquid chemical and was designed to explode on contact. A second device was found beneath the balcony.

The state police bomb squad neutralized both devices.

Local media report all three teens are Cazenovia High School students and the homeowner is a teacher.
