SANTA MARIA, Calif. (AP) - A Central California jury has convicted five people in the torture-murder of a man whose body was found in a U-Haul truck.

The Santa Maria Times (https://bit.ly/1y1Y4Ly ) says the five men were found guilty Tuesday of first-degree murder. A mistrial was declared for a sixth man.

Prosecutors said the men tortured 28-year-old Anthony Ibarra over a drug debt in March 2013, stabbed him to death in a Santa Maria house and left his body in a U-Haul truck in Santa Barbara County.

The convicted men could face life in prison.

It’s not immediately clear whether prosecutors will seek a new trial for the sixth man.
