MEETEETSE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming wildlife officials are warning pet owners about a suspected case of animal poisoning near Meeteetse.
The game warden for the Cody region, Scott Werbelow, says three dogs and three wild animals - a coyote, a raccoon and a skunk - likely died after ingesting poison near the Timber Creek Ranger Station late last week. He says a veterinarian that tried to treat one of the dogs suspected the animals were poisoned and that it appeared to be intentional.
People who find dead animals while out in the area are asked to stay away and call the Wyoming Game & Fish Department’s anti-poaching hotline (1-877-WGFD-TIP).
