ABERDEEN, N.C. (AP) - A New Jersey company that makes printed bags and other supplies for lawn and garden product manufacturers is moving its manufacturing operations to North Carolina creating almost 50 jobs.

Reliance Packaging announced on Tuesday that it will be investing $3.5 million in its existing plant in Moore County community of Aberdeen during the next three years. Aberdeen is located near Southern Pines.

The plant currently employs 12 but the expansion will create 48 additional jobs.

The new jobs will be for machine operators and maintenance technicians. The company says the average payroll will exceed $1.5 million.

Reliance Packaging is part of the Sigma Plastics Group headquartered in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
