MOORINGSPORT, La. (AP) - Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies are searching Caddo Lake after witnesses say a man fell out of a boat.

The sheriff’s office says deputies and emergency units were called to the lake on the Louisiana side of the state line just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Greenbrake area in Oil City.

Authorities tell KSLA-TV (https://bit.ly/1E1jaec ) that a man and three family members were fishing when the man was setting an anchor and lost his balance and fell overboard. Deputies say one of the man’s relatives extended a paddle to him, but he lost his grip and went under.

Relatives flagged down other boaters who called 911.

Authorities are launching search boats from the Mooringsport boat launch and a dive team is on scene.

The man’s name has not been released.
