THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - A 37-year-old Larose man sentenced in a 2013 car crash that killed two of his passengers is again set for trial after a judge allowed him to withdraw his guilty plea.

The Daily Comet reports (https://bit.ly/1y0IL5E ) Jimmy Vizinat pleaded guilty July 25 to two counts of vehicular homicide in the Sept. 28, 2013, deaths of 42-year-old Patricia Vega and 27-year-old Cari Scofield. State District Judge Buddy Larose of Thibodaux handed down two concurrent sentences of 20 years in prison.

Vizinat is now set for trial May 15 after Larose granted public defender Julie Erny’s motion to withdraw the plea.
