YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) - A Yonkers father has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2013 death of his 6-month-old daughter.

The Westchester County district attorney’s office says 33-year-old Clarence Thomas faces up to 15 years in prison at his sentencing May 12. He entered his plea on Monday.

The girl’s mother, Kayan Johns, pleaded guilty in September to one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors say she had called 911, saying baby Natalia Johns had stopped breathing. The baby was pronounced dead at a Yonkers hospital.

Medical examiners found evidence of repeated injuries to her head.

Prosecutors say the father gave various accounts of how the injuries might have happened. The DA’s office says Johns noticed bruises on the baby for months but did nothing about it.
