LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) - Lt. Gov. Henry McMaster is helping South Carolina seniors get prepared for emergencies and natural disasters.

The Lieutenant Governor’s Office on Aging is kicking off a spring effort on Tuesday to help seniors get information and discounts to help them prepare for events like hurricanes or severe storms.

McMaster is teaming up with officials from agencies including the Emergency Management Division, the Department of Health and Environmental Control and the State Fire Marshal. They’re going to be at a Walgreen’s in Lexington to hand out free T-shirts and starter kits, along with information from participating agencies.
