DAMARISCOTTA, Maine (AP) - A 65-year-old Damariscotta man has been charged with sexually assaulting three children.

Lt. Michael Murphy of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department says Ronald Brann was arrested on three counts of unlawful sexual contact and three counts of unlawful sexual touching.

Police say all the alleged victims are under the age of 12. The alleged assaults occurred in Damariscotta and Waldoboro.

Police started investigating after complaints were filed with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

Brann is being held on $5,000 bail pending a June 8 court appearance and it could not immediately be determined if he has a lawyer.

The investigation is ongoing.
