REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A circuit court arraignment has been rescheduled for a man charged with having sex with a person without revealing his HIV-positive status.

The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says in a release that Tyrone Pugh’s new court date is April 17. He’s charged with three counts for allegedly having sex with an uninformed partner.

The charge carries a four-year penalty upon conviction.

Prosecutors say a 43-year-old woman told police in Redford Township in January that she and the 39-year-old Pugh had a sexual relationship while he was HIV positive. Pugh was arrested in February.

Court-appointed defense attorney Rita White says the charges against Pugh “are pending and we’re going to see how we proceed on the 17th.”
