MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - A Mason City man has been accused of stealing a custom-made, three-wheeled bicycle that’s worth about $3,000.

The Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1GIbYUG ) that 41-year-old John Ray Hanse is charged with felony second-degree theft. He remained in custody Tuesday at the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $2,000 bond.

A criminal complaint says Hanse was spotted in possession of the yellow Greenspeed three-wheeled bicycle Thursday in Mason City and later arrested. The bicycle had been reported stolen March 31.

Online court records indicate Hanse has been assigned to the public defender’s office, but an attorney hasn’t yet been appointed to his case to request comment on his behalf.

Hanse is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
