SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) - Authorities in central Oklahoma say a high-speed chase in Pottawatomie County has ended in an officer-involved shooting.

Sheriff Mike Booth said that a suspect in the chase was shot Tuesday. That person’s condition is unclear.

KWTV-TV reports the chase ended near Highway 102 after the suspect crashed after fleeing from deputies. Authorities say the suspect refused to leave the vehicle before the shooting.

The suspect’s identity hasn’t been released.

It’s unclear how the chase began, how many deputies were involved and what prompted the shooting.

No other injuries have been reported.
