DETROIT (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner in Detroit.

The announcement was made Tuesday by the Detroit branch of the NAACP.

The 60th annual event will be held May 3 at Cobo Center.

Harvard Law School professor Charles Ogletree delivered last year’s keynote. Other past speakers included U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and former President Bill Clinton.

The Detroit chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People says the dinner draws 10,000 people each year. The dinner is the Detroit branch’s largest fundraiser.

Detroit Democrat and U.S. Rep. John Conyers will be among four people to be honored at the dinner.
