ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - WonderCon, a comic book and pop culture convention considered the smaller sibling of the massive Comic-Con, is moving from Anaheim to Los Angeles starting in 2016.

LA Mayor Eric Garcetti announced the move on Monday, the day after this year’s WonderCon came to an end in Anaheim.

WonderCon, which began in 1987 as the Wonderful World of Comics Convention, is run by the same people as Comic-Con, the annual showcase in San Diego that has become the nation’s biggest mecca for comic, film and fanboy culture.

Comic-Con has just one year left in its contract with its longtime home at the San Diego Convention Center, leading to discussions that it also might consider moving north Anaheim or Los Angeles.
