COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Voters in Colorado Springs are choosing a new mayor.

Six candidates are vying to replace incumbent Steve Bach in a mail election that ends Tuesday. The field includes former Attorney General John Suthers and former Colorado Springs mayor Mary Lou Makepeace. Suthers had 47 percent of the vote and Makepeace had 23 percent at about 9:30 p.m., with about 7,000 ballots left to be counted.

The Gazette (https://bit.ly/1H1vcoy ) reports that Suthers outraised all of his opponents by more than a 3-to-1 margin.

If no one candidate gets a majority of the vote, the top two finishers will compete in a runoff election next month.
