CORINTH, Miss. (AP) - A Corinth man has been charged with two counts of capital murder related to a weekend fatal shooting in Alcorn County.

According to local media reports, 24-year-old Michael Lee Meeks was denied bond during a hearing Tuesday in justice court.

Sheriff’s Department Investigator Reggie Anderson says Meeks is charged in the deaths of 50-year-old Archie Wayne Williams and 56-year-old Jeanette Martha Gray. Their bodies were found Saturday at a home in the Fields community.

Anderson says both died of gunshot wounds.

He says Meeks was arrested in Alabama.

Jail officials couldn’t provide the name of a defense attorney to comment on the charges.
