STRATFORD, Conn. (AP) - The state medical examiner’s office says the death of a Bridgeport woman whose remains were found in a marshy area in Stratford was a homicide.

But the office of the chief medical examiner said Wednesday it remains unclear exactly how 57-year-old Minnie Lincoln was killed.

Police said Lincoln was last seen on March 27 as she left a bar in Bridgeport with 36-year-old Marcus Jackson. Her family reported her missing on March 31.

Jackson was described as a person of interest in the case. Police said he fatally shot himself Monday as they knocked on his door.

Lincoln’s dismembered remains were found the same day. The Connecticut Post reports police searched the marsh area after finding footage from a surveillance camera that showed Jackson driving in the area.
