FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) - Divers have located the hull of a helicopter that crashed into the Tennessee River in northern Alabama.

Cherokee Volunteer Fire Chief Chuck Lansdell tells the TimesDaily (https://bit.ly/1CfvsuN) that the wreckage was found 27 feet underwater late Tuesday. Lansdell said no occupants were found.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the owner of the Hughes H369 notified authorities that it crashed with one person on board Monday afternoon near Florence.

Colbert County Sheriff Frank Williamson told the Florence newspaper that Haverfield Aviation of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, reported pings it received from the helicopter that put it in the area of the Tennessee River.

The Florence newspaper reports that search crews planned to resume the search Wednesday, aided by cadaver dogs and air support from the aviation company that owned the helicopter.
