GEISMAR, La. (AP) - Company officials say the fire-damaged Renewable Energy Group biorefinery in Geismar will take two to four months to get back into service.

The facility, which makes diesel from animal fat, was closed after an April 2 fire. Renewable tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1aJxfBC ) it is still assessing the damage, but it appears to be contained to a limited area.

The work will include a one-month maintenance shutdown that had been scheduled for the summer.
