MECHANICSVILLE, Iowa (AP) - Investigators say they found over two dozen animals while searching a mobile home in eastern Iowa for clues in connection with an armed bank robbery.

The Cedar County Sheriff’s Office says authorities seized 10 dogs, 12 cats, 2 turtles, 2 guinea pigs and several birds and fish Tuesday from the Mechanicsville residence where three of four robbery suspects live.

Police arrested 24-year-old Andrew Palmer, 41-year-old Peter Olinger and 25-year-old Elizabeth Olinger, all of Mechanicsville, in connection with a robbery Monday at Exchange State Bank in Martelle. Twenty-two-year-old Shiloh Palmer, of Mt Vernon, was also arrested.

Deputies with the Jones County Sheriff’s Office tracked all four down following reports of the robbery.

KCRG-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1IsGnbu ) that several of the animals were transferred to a shelter in Tipton as investigation continues.
