TEA, S.D. (AP) - A would-be thief at a truck stop in Tea may be bad at stealing, but he can sure follow orders.

Lincoln County Sheriff Dennis Johnson says a man walked into the Roadway Express Stop early Wednesday morning and grabbed some cash out of the register when the clerk wasn’t looking.

As soon as the clerk noticed, he told the man to give the money back. And he did.

The man left the building, tried to pump gas and then drove away.

Johnson says police are still looking for the suspect and that he could be charged with theft.

He’s described as a 5-foot-9 white man in his late 20s. He weighs about 200 pounds and drives a late 2000s Ford 500 or Taurus.
