IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa City police chief says an officer who was under investigation for a drunken driving charge no longer works for the department.

The police chief and Sgt. Scott Gaarde say they couldn’t provide more information about 39-year-old Carlos Trevino and couldn’t elaborate whether he resigned or was terminated.

Trevino was a 10-year veteran of the department. He was arrested in February for driving while drunk by North Liberty police. A police complaint says Trevino had a blood alcohol content of 0.197, more than twice the legal limit in Iowa.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen says a phone number for Trevino couldn’t be found. Court documents show that his arraignment is set for Thursday.
