VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - The city of Vicksburg will hold a public meeting Thursday to release its recommendations a site and design of a $20 million multipurpose sports complex.

The Vicksburg Post reports (https://bit.ly/1CRxCTY ) city leaders will also meet Thursday before the public meeting with a consultant hired to suggest a site and design.

The city is looking at 270 acres of land with baseball and softball fields, 15 soccer fields, 10 tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts and a building with indoor pool.

The city is also waiting for Gov. Phil Bryant to sign a bill that would allow the city two levy up to a 2 percent sales tax on hotel room rentals and food and beverage sales - if voters approve - to finance the sportsplex.
